SMP for hair transplant scars
Small round FUE dots in the donor area, or a linear FUT scar across the back of the head. Both are hard to hide with short hair. SMP places pigment in and around the scar so that it blends into the hair around it.

Why scars stand out
No hair grows in scar tissue, and the tissue is usually lighter than the skin around it. With longer hair it is hidden; cut your hair short and the contrast appears. A linear FUT scar is especially noticeable because the eye is drawn to straight lines.
How we work with scar tissue
- Wait until it has healed. We do not treat scars that are still red, tender or swollen – often at least six months after surgery.
- Start carefully. Scar tissue takes pigment unpredictably. We begin light and see how yours responds.
- Build in layers. Over 2–3 sessions, sometimes more, we add density and fill in where pigment did not hold.
- Soften the edges. For a linear scar we work out into the hair on both sides so no band appears.
Pigment changes colour, not shape. If a scar is raised or indented, the texture can still show in hard side lighting. We will tell you honestly what to expect before you book.
Who it suits
- You have a healed FUE or FUT scar that bothers you
- You want to wear your hair short again
- Your donor area looks thin or patchy after extraction
- You also want more density among the transplanted hairs
If you are prone to keloid scarring, talk to a doctor before any pigmentation work.

Ray does your treatment
I work exclusively with Scalp Micropigmentation. My focus is results that blend into your own hair and skin tone, rather than results that announce themselves.
Scar work takes patience. I assess the scar carefully and say honestly how much difference SMP can make before we agree on anything.
”I started Scalpcentrum because I have seen how much a natural hairline and the right treatment can change how someone sees themselves.”

FAQ
Questions about scar camouflage
How long after surgery can I have SMP?
The scar must be fully healed – no longer red, tender or swollen. That often means at least six months. We assess it at the consultation.
Will the scar disappear completely?
Rarely completely, but in most cases it becomes much harder to spot. Pigment changes the colour contrast, not the texture.
How short can I wear my hair afterwards?
Most people can go considerably shorter than before. How short depends on the width and texture of the scar.
Does scar tissue take pigment differently?
Yes. Some areas hold pigment immediately, others need another pass. That is why we build the result over several sessions.
Can you treat both the donor area and the top?
Yes, and it is common. Many people want scar camouflage and more density among the transplanted hairs at the same time.
